Bellarmine University (12-2, 4-0 GLVC) defeated William Jewell College (3-9, 0-5 GLVC), 93-51, in Great Lakes Valley Conference Play (GLVC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.
Patrick Whelan and
Jorge Perez-Laham were the only Cards to score in double figures with 10 points each.
The Cards got out to an early 4-2 lead only to see the No. 13 Knights come alive with a 10-0 run. The Cards cut the lead to five points at the 12:56 mark of the half
but Bellarmine would take control over the next four minutes off an 11-2 run and built a 46-31 lead at the half.
Coming out of halftime, the Knights scored the first six points in the half to bring the score to 52-31.
Bellarmine quickly found its rhythm on offense once again in the second half and continued to stretch out its lead and led by as many as 41 with just over seven
minutes to play.
The Knights put five players in double figures as they went on to win 93-51.
The Cardinals will head home for three straight games starting with a GLVC matchup with University of Illinois-Springfield on Thursday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m.
