The William Jewell College men's soccer team hosted University of Southern Indiana tonight in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at Greene Stadium. The game also marked senior night as the Cardinals honored
Evan Miller,
Troy Williams,
Aaron Froehlich,
Jordan Lindsey, and
Derek Bullis. The Cards fell behind early and were never able to catch up as Southern Indiana held on for the 3-1 win. Jewell falls to 3-10 overall and 1-9 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 25:34 Eric Ramirez knocked in his fourth goal of the season off an assist from Justin Raines to put USI up 1-0.
- 33:02 Ramirez again found the back of the net, his fifth of the year, Cesar Alba was credited for the assist and the Screaming Eagles led 2-0.
- 38:31 Markus Poulsen put USI up 3-0 with his first goal of 2017 off a double assist from Drew Albert and Hayden Sovar.
- 75:54 Dakota Hayes scored his first goal of the season off a free kick that cut the lead to 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Southern Indiana out shot the Cardinals 10-7 and led 7-2 in shots on goal.

- Froehlich led Jewell with two shots.
IN GOAL
- Quinn Ruggeri played the first half for Jewell and took the loss falling to 2-6 on the year. Nick Cooper played the second half and held the Screaming Eagles scoreless.
YOU SHOULD NOTE
- The Cards held USI to only two second half shots after giving up 8 in the first half.
