GAME ONE | Cardinals 8 - Newman 0
In the opener, Jewell jumped on top early with three runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. A walk to Emily Hoover, followed by singles from Ashlyn Sutton and Madi Giles loaded the bases with just one out for Anna Biondo who hit a ground ball to the shortstop and beat the throw for the RBI infield single. A fielder's choice from Lindsay Glynn scored another run and Giles came around on the throw to put the Cards up 3-0 early.

In the following frame, Sutton roped an RBI single through the left side to score Kelsey Morgan who had reached on a fielder's choice. An RBI single from Sydne Brashear in the fourth inning, made it 5-0 Cardinals.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hoover led off with a double over the head of the Newman left fielder and was pinch ran for by Madesen Gage. Sutton reached base and stole second to put two on with no outs for Giles who came through with a single to right, scoring Gage. Biondo tallied a bunt single to score Sutton before Taylor Alarcon put a pinch hit single into left field to give Jewell the 8-0 run rule victory.

The charge was led by Biondo who was masterful in the circle. The sophomore went five innings, allowing no runs and just two hits while striking out six to earn her fifth win of the year.

The Cardinals outhit Newman 10-2 led by the bottom half of the order in Sutton, Giles, and Biondo all with two hits each. Biondo also had two RBI.

Jewell registered three stolen bases, one a piece from Sutton, Glynn, and Madelynne Greenstreet

GAME TWO | Cardinals 10 - Newman 2
In the night cap, the Cards broke the game open early as two singles from Greenstreet and Brashear followed by a walk to Morgan loaded the bases for Brooke Bernard who put Jewell up 4-0 on a grand slam to right field.

The Cards were held quiet in the second inning but added two runs on a Sutton double in the third frame to take a 6-0 lead.

In the fourth, Gage reached on an error, followed by a single to Greenstreet, and a walk to Morgan to once again load the bases for Bernard. The junior second baseman took the second pitch she saw over the center field wall for her second grand slam of the day and gave Jewell a 10-0 advantage.

Newman got on the board in the top of the fifth on a two run home run by Adrienne Esposito but freshman Sarah Lewis came on and recorded the final two outs for Jewell and secure the 10-2 win.

The Cardinals again outhit Newman 9-4 led by Bernard's three hits. Greenstreet also recorded two while Morgan reached base and scored twice.
