The William Jewell softball team dropped both ends of a double header on the road at Truman State on Friday by scores of 4-1 and 9-2. The Cardinals fall to 19-19 overall and 9-9 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

In the opener, Jewell hurler
Sarah Lewis (5-6) did not allow an earned run over seven innings but took the loss in the circle, on ten hits by the Bulldogs that were aided by three Cardinal errors.
Truman scored one run in the third inning and added three more in the sixth frame before Jewell got on the board in the seventh.
Sydne Brashear ripped a lead off double to left field and came around to score on a single from Lewis.
Jewell totaled six hits in the opening match up, led by two from Brashear.
GAME TWO | Truman 9 - Cardinals 2
In game two, Truman wasted no time getting on the board, scoring three runs in the opening frame. The Cardinals responded with two runs in the third after
Brooke Bernard put a double down the right field line scoring
Lindsay Glynn and
Madi Giles.
The Bulldogs added three runs in the bottom of the third, two in the fourth, and one in the fifth to pull away 9-2.
Jewell managed just four hits off Truman starter Lauren Dale (14-6), those coming off the bats of Bernard, Glynn, Alarcon, and
Anna Biondo.
Biondo took the loss to drop to 13-5 on the season, allowing four earned runs on five hits, in 3.1 innings of work.
Taylor Friesen also worked 2.2 innings in the circle.
