The William Jewell men's soccer team earned their first win of the 2017 season on Tuesday night, 4-2, over Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.   Jewell improves to 1-2 overall on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• 6:21 Charlie Parrish scored off an assist from Drew Dempsey. 
• 11:47 Dempsey scored his first goal of the year unassisted to put Jewell up 2-0.
• 65:10 Griffin King scored his first career goal to put Jewell up 3-1
• 77:38 Teddy Gifford put the game away with an unassisted goal, his first of the season which produced the winning 4-2 margin.
   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals out shot the Bearcats overall 21-8 with 4 being on goal.
   

LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT

• Gifford and Alex Trinidad posted four shots to lead the Cardinals.

IN GOAL

• Sophomore Quinn Ruggeri earned his first win of the season in goal.  Ruggeri had four saves on the night for Jewell.
   

YOU SHOULD NOTE

• Jewell's 21 shots are a season high and their four goals are also a season high.
