The William Jewell men's soccer team returned to Great Lakes Valley Conference play hosting Missouri S&T tonight at Greene Stadium.   The Cards lost a heartbreaker 2-1 in double overtime to fall to 2-6 overall and 0-6 in league play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• 24:17 Drew Dempsey put Jewell on the board with his fifth goal of the year off a double assist from Noah Espinosa and Matthew Martel. 
• 34:16 Felipe Andrade tied the game 1-1 when he headed home a goal from inside the box.
• 105:59 Martin Klevjer knocked home the golden goal off a double assist to give the Miners the victory.
   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Miners out shot the Cardinals 22-10 and led 8-4 in shots on goal.   

LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT

• Aaron Froehlich led the Cards with three shots while Dempsey, Dakota Hayes and Charlie Parrish each had two. 
   

IN GOAL

• Goalie Nick Cooper falls to 1-3 overall and made six saves on the night.

YOU SHOULD NOTE

• This was Jewell's first overtime game of the season.
