The William Jewell College women's soccer team opened up their 2017 season on Sunday afternoon in Joplin, Mo., against Missouri Southern State University. The Cards got a goal in the 77th minute to down the Lions 1-0 and move to 1-0 on the season while Missouri Southern falls to 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lexy Hawkins took a pass from
Alyson Galler and knocked home the only goal of the game from the top of the box at the 77:31 mark.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Jewell outshot Missouri Southern 12-10 and edged the Lions in corner kicks 2-1.

Jordan Lewis had five saves on the afternoon to earn victory number one on the young season.
