Cardinals Post Dominant Road Win over UW-Parkside

The William Jewell women's basketball team dominated from start to finish at Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday night, on their way to a 66-41 win. The Cardinals move to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, and snap a two game losing skid.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 1Q: Jewell scored the first eight points of the game, including six from Katie Finn, before a three from the Rangers at the 6:51 mark made it a 8-5 game. From there it was all Cardinals as Jewell went on 17-0 run to close the period and lead 25-5 after the first ten minutes.
  • 2Q: As good as the opening frame was on the offense end for Jewell the second was even better on the defensive end. The Cardinals allowed just three points on a three from Georgie Eishold at the 8:33 mark. Jewell again closed the quarter on a big run, outscoring the Rangers 11-0 to hold a 38-8 lead at the intermission.
  • 3Q: After scoring just eight points in the entire first half, the Rangers came out and scored eight in the first three minutes of the third quarter and outscored Jewell 22-18 in the third. After growing the lead to as many as 33, UWP ended the period on a 9-2 run to pull within 56-30.
  • 4Q: Despite the late third quarter run by the Rangers, the Cardinals were never challenged as Finn, Adriana Rodriguez, Hayden Butler, and Rhyann Fisher all scored in the fourth period and cruised to the 25 point win.
