HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 1st Period: The Cardinal offense was able to go on a 16-0 run and put the Adams State defense on its heels early in the matchup. • 2ndPeriod: Lea Finn started the second half of action with a three point basket followed by an old fashioned three-point play to keep the momentum in favor of Jewell. It was Kelsi York calling her own number with three minutes remaining in the half with a three pointer from the left wing to advance the Cardinal lead. Jewell went into the locker room at the half with a 13-point advantage.
  • 3rdPeriod: The Grizzlies from Adams State turned things around midway through the third period and cut the Jewell lead to just six. York came up big again for Jewell and ended an Adams State seven point run with another three pointer.
