Bradley's Career Night Leads Cardinals to Third Straight Win

Kiara Bradley scored William Jewell's first 11 points of the game on her way to a career-high 29 in the Cardinals 76-70 win over Lincoln University on Saturday evening in Jefferson City, Mo. With the victory, the Cards move to 6-4 on the season while Lincoln dropped to 7-2, including suffering their first home loss of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 1st Quarter: After falling behind 9-0 and forcing an early timeout from Jill Slominski, Bradley went on a 11-6 run of her own, followed by a three from Antoinette Mussorici to pull Jewell back within one. The freshman, Mussorici hit one of two free throws with 55 seconds left in the period to tie the game at 15 after one frame.
  • 2nd Quarter: The Blue Tigers opened the second quarter much like the first, with an 8-0 run to open a 23-15 lead, midway through the period. The Cardinals got three point shots from Bradley and Sydney Offield to pull within 33-27 at the break.
  • 3rd Quarter: Lincoln expanded their lead to as many as nine in the third quarter before the Cardinals rallied. After trailing for much of the period, Natalie Closser hit a layup to tie the game followed by a three from Mussorici with just five seconds to go to give Jewell a one point lead heading into the final quarter.
  • 4th Quarter: The first half of the final period went back-and-forth before a short run by the Cardinals, led by four points from Offield, pushed Jewell in front by six with just over five minutes to play. The Blue Tigers didn't go quietly, pulling within two with under a minute on the clock but Offield and Bradley combined to nail all six free throw attempts down the stretch and secure the win.
