The William Jewell softball team upped its record to 6-0 on the season with non-conference wins over Ashland and Findlay on Friday afternoon on day one of the Lewis Dome Invitational in Rosemont, Illinois.
GAME 1 (Ashland University)
FINAL SCORE: 4-1, Win
HOW IT HAPPENED
- T2: Ashland scored first on a RBI single from Erika Farst. (1-0, AU)
- B3: Madi Giles posted an RBI single to score Madelynne Greenstreet before scoring herself on an error. Brooke Bernard reached on the error on the Eagles' left fielder and came around to score on a bases loaded walk by Phoebe Dabbour. (3-1, Jewell)
- B6: Allison Rawls grabbed a pinch hit single with one out in the sixth. Lindsay Glynn returned to run for Rawls and stole two bases before scoring on an error by the Ashland catcher. (4-1, Jewell)

Anna Biondo (3-0) - Tossed a complete game, allowing one earned run on five hits with eight strikeouts

- T1: The Oilers jumped out to an early lead on a RBI single from Madison Arnold. (1-0, UF)
- T3: Findlay extended the lead with two runs in the third on a two RBI single from Kelley Cejer forcing a Jewell pitching change. (3-0, UF)
- B3: The Cardinals responded with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the frame. Madi Giles singled to score Madelynne Greenstreet who pinch ran for Allison Rawls. After two outs Brooke Bernard recorded a single to score Giles and Courtney Beatty to tie the game. (3-3)
- B6: Beatty was hit-by-pitch to lead off the sixth and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Phoebe Dabbour.

Sarah Lewis (1-0) - Threw five innings in relief, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out five
