The William Jewell women's basketball team dropped a 98-48 decision to No. 5 Drury University on Saturday afternoon in the Mabee Center. The Cardinals fell to 12-12 overall and 9-9 in GLVC play. 


HOW IT HAPPENED

• 1Q: The Cardinals fell into an early double-digit hole but remained within striking distance for much of the first quarter. The Panthers closed the opening period on a 7-1 run to hold a 30-15 lead after ten minutes. 
• 2Q: Jewell managed just nine points in the second quarter while the Panthers put up 23 to take a 53-24 halftime lead. 
• 3Q: The third period was better for the Cardinals offensively, scoring 15 points, led by six from Kayla Harrell but the Panthers continued to pour on the points leading 83-39. 
• 4Q: Drury outscored the Cardinals 15-9 over the final ten minutes to bring the game to the final of 98-48. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals shot 38 percent from the floor compared to 52 percent by the Panthers. 
• While the Panthers won the battle of the paint 40-26, it was the Cardinals who took advantage of second chance opportunities outscoring Drury 10-3.

LEADERS OF THE FLIGHT

• Harrell led Jewell with ten points while Katie Finn and Lindsey McCoy added nine a piece
• Finn and Sydney Offield dished out three assists.

YOU SHOULD NOTE

• Following the game the Cardinals honored their six seniors, Finn, McCoy, Adriana Rodriguez, Hayden Butler, Ashley Pitrof, and Katie Cordray. 
• Finn played in her 100th career game opposite Drury.
