Worstell Earns 200th Career Win as Jewell Defeats Ottawa

Box Score William Jewell head women's tennis coach Paul Worstell won his 200th career match on Saturday as his Cardinal squad netted a 7-2 victory over Ottawa University.  Jewell improves to 1-3 overall on the season.
 
How It Happened
The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in doubles as senior Claire Mackay and junior Becca Richison won at No. 1 doubles 8-2.  Junior Whitney Holloman and first-year player Morgan Holopirek dominated their opponents at No. 3 doubles 8-1.  Ottawa was able to take the No. 2 doubles match over Hannah Waine and Julia Yamate 8-5. 

In singles competition, the Cardinals won five of the six singles matches including Yamate's first career win for Jewell at No. 5 singles.   Holopirek won her match at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-3 to remain undefeated in singles play this year. Mackay, Richison and Holloman all won in straight sets at No. 1, No.2 and No. 4 singles respectively. 

What's Next
The Cardinals will travel to Evansville, Ind. to take on University of Southern Indiana on Friday, February, 16 at 11:00 a.m.
