The William Jewell baseball team opened a three game series at Illinois Springfield on Friday afternoon, dropping an 8-6 decision. The Cardinals fall to 3-4 overall on the season.

Ben Pautler singled to right field and swiped second base before scoring on a throwing error by the Prairie Stars.
Chase Averitt's RBI singled scored
Christian Chalabi who had walked to make it 2-0 Jewell. (2-0, Jewell)
B5: Illinois Springfield took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring four runs on three hits. (4-2, UIS)
T6: Three consecutive singles to lead off the sixth frame followed by an error allowed Pautler to score. Chalabi and
Tyler Carpenter each scored on RBI ground outs to put Jewell back on top. (5-4, Jewell)
