The William Jewell College men's tennis team was shut out 9-0 by Rockhurst University in their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at Clayview Country Club. 

How It Happened
The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles with the closest match occurring at No.1 where sophomore Bjorn Myers and freshman Cutter Sanders fell 8-6.   
In singles play, Rockhurst swept all six singles contests but Sanders lost a hard fought three set battle at No.2 singles.      

What's Next
The Cardinals travel to Baldwin City, Kan., on Wednesday, March 28 to take on Baker University.  First-serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
