Maryville University used two late rallies to take a double header from the William Jewell softball team on Friday afternoon in St. Louis, Missouri by scores of 5-2 and 5-4 in nine innings. With the losses the Cardinals fall to 17-13 overall and 4-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T2: Sarah Lewis gave Jewell an early lead as she blasted a two run home run, her third of the season, over the right center field wall. (2-0, Jewell)
- B4: Maryville got on the board with a run on two hits in the fourth inning to cut the lead in half. (2-1, Jewell)
- B5: The Saints went on top in the fifth with three runs on three hits and a Cardinal error. (4-2, Maryville)

- B1: The Saints grabbed an early advantage with a run on one hit in the first inning. (1-0, Maryville)
- B3: Maryville extended their lead to three, adding two runs on a sacrifice fly in the third. (3-0, Maryville)
- T4: The Cardinals got a run back with a a two-out solo home run by Courtney Beatty, her third of the year. (3-1, Maryville)
- B4: The Saints pushed the lead back to three, getting an RBI double from Sydney Sprague. (4-1, Maryville)
- T5: The Jewell bats got going in the fifth as back-to-back singles from Madelynne Greenstreet and Brooke Bernard put two on for Emily Hoover who drove a single to left center to pull the Cardinals within one. (4-3, Maryville)
- T7: Down to their final at bat, the Cardinals rallied as Madi Giles walked to lead off the inning and scored on a single from Bernard to knot the game at four. (4-4)Â
- B9: Maryville put two runners on and scored the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. (5-4, Maryville)

Winning Pitcher: Callans (10-5) earned her second win of the day, pitching the final 2.2 innings, giving up just two hits.Â
