Box Score 2 The William Jewell softball team bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a sweep of Missouri S&T by scores of 4-2 and 12-2 in five innings. The Cardinals move to 19-13 on the season and 6-6 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
GAME 1
Final: 4-2, Win
HOW IT HAPPENED
- B1: Missouri S&T got on the board first with an unearned run in the opening inning. (1-0, MST)
- T2: The Cardinals started the second frame with three consecutive singles to tie the game at one. A fielder's choice by Lindsay Glynn scored Courtney Beatty to give Jewell their first lead. (2-1, Jewell)
- B2: The Miners tied the game once again with a one-out solo home run from Ashley Davis. (2-2)
- T3: The Cardinals jumped back on top the following frame on a Beatty two-run home run to center, her fourth of the season. (4-2, Jewell)
PITCHERS
Winning Pitcher:
Anna Biondo (8-6) earned her eighth win of the year, allowing just one earned run on eight hits.
Losing Pitcher: Avery English (12-8) took the loss, giving up 12 hits and four earned runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T1: The Cardinals wasted no time grabbing a lead in game two, putting up a five-spot on four runs, capped by a three-run home run by Dabbour in the first frame. (5-0, Jewell)
- T2: Jewell added a run in the top of the second as Greenstreet doubled to center and scored on a single off the bat of Bernard. (6-0, Jewell)
- B2: The Miners got on the board with back-to-back home runs to lead off the bottom of the inning. (6-2, Jewell)
- T3: The Cardinal offense continued to roll in the third, scoring five more runs on four hits. With a runner on, Dabbour sent her second home run of the game over the left center field wall. Kelsey Morgan and Biondo drew back-to-back walks and scored on singles from Greenstreet and Bernard to push the lead to nine. (11-2, Jewell)
- T5: Bernard gave Jewell their biggest lead of the day with a two-out RBI single in the fifth. (12-2, Jewell)
PITCHERS
Winning Pitcher: Greenstreet (8-4) grabbed the win after allowing just four hits and striking out six batters.
Losing Pitcher: Kati Viets (6-6) suffered the loss after giving up 13 hits and 12 earned runs.
