The William Jewell baseball team dropped both ends of the series opening double header with Drury University on Saturday afternoon at Talley Stadium. The Cardinals fell by scores of 4-0 and 11-0 and fall to 19-19 overall and 8-10 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

Final: 4-0, Loss
HOW IT HAPPENED
- T6: Drury did all the scoring in one inning in the opener, plating four runs on three hits and a Cardinal error. (4-0, DU)
PITCHERS
Win: Austin Simms (7-2) earned the win, going eight inning, allowing just four hits and striking out eight.
Loss:
Brendan Beatty (5-3) suffered the loss after going 8.2 innings, giving up just one earned run with seven strikeouts.
Save: Nick Costantino (7) got the save stranding the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T2: The Panthers got on the board early with six runs on five hits, including a home run, in the top of the second inning. (6-0, DU)
- T4: Drury added five runs on five hits and took advantage of two Cardinal errors to push their lead to 11. (11-0, DU)
PITCHERS
Win: Tom Tewes (2-2) got the complete game shutout with just four hits and two walks allowed.
Loss:
Kylan Easley (2-3) took the loss, allowing six earned on six hits.
