The William Jewell softball team earned their first sweep of Indianapolis since moving to NCAA Division II on Sunday afternoon at the Spratt Sports Complex. The Cardinals downed the 20th ranked Greyhounds by scores of 1-0 and 9-7 to move to 25-19 on the season and 12-12 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- B3: Madi Giles roped a lead off double to left center and scored on a fielder's choice by Phoebe Dabbour for the only run of the game. (1-0, Jewell)

Anna Biondo (11-9) tossed a complete game four-hit shutout, striking out six to earn her 11th win of the season.
Loss: Lauren Honkomp (14-7) suffered the loss, giving up one earned run on seven hits and three walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- B1: The Cardinals hung five runs on the board in the first inning to take an early lead. The first three batters reached base on a single and two walks before a hit by Dabbour and a fielder's choice from Beatty made it a two-run lead. A two-RBI single up the middle off the bat of Sarah Lewis was followed by a hit through the left side by Lindsay Glynn making it a five-run Cardinal advantage. (5-0, Jewell)
- B3: The Cardinals added two runs on three hits in the third as Beatty was hit by a pitch and scored on a sac fly from Morgan. Giles singled up the middle to plate Emily Hoover to push the lead to seven. (7-0, Jewell)
- B4: Jewell tacked on a run on a sac fly to right field scoring Tori Farr. (8-0, Jewell)
- T5: UIndy prevented the run-rule, scoring three runs on four hits and a Cardinal error in the fifth. (8-3, Jewell)
- B5: The Cards got one run back as Beatty drew a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to six. (9-3, Jewell)
- T7: The Greyhounds made things interesting in the final frame, getting two, two-run home runs to pull within two before a fly out and a ground out ended the rally. (9-7, Jewell)
PITCHERS
Win:
Sarah Lewis (6-5) worked 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits to get the win.
Loss: Halie Waters (8-5) took the loss, going just one-third of an inning and allowing five runs on two hits and three walks.

YOU SHOULD NOTE
- With her first inning double in game one, the senior Giles posted her 62nd career double to break the Jewell record. In total she had four two-bag hits on the day.
- Redshirt senior Kelsey Morgan broke a record of her own appearing in her 204th career game, becoming the Cardinals all-time leader.

The Cardinals wrap up the regular season on the road with another tough test on Saturday at No. 18 Illinois Springfield followed by a trip to Quincy on Sunday.
