The William Jewell College women's tennis team resumed their match with Baker University today at Bennett Park in Liberty, Mo. The match was postponed last Wednesday in Baldwin City, Kan. The Cards blanked the Wildcats 9-0 to win their third straight.
How It Happened
The Cards came out of doubles play up 3-0 with a pair of 8-1 dominating wins from
Claire Mackay and
Becca Richison at No. 1 and
Whitney Holloman and
Hannah Waine at No. 3 doubles. The number two tandem of
Julia Yamate and
Morgan Holopirek put the Cards up 3-0 with an 8-5 win at No. 2.
The Cards won all six singles matches as five of the matches were straight set wins. Yamate won her match at No. 5 singles in three sets 7-5, 2-6 and 10-6.
What's Next
The Cardinals will resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play tomorrow when they travel to Springfield, Mo., to take on Drury University. First-serve is set for 11:40 a.m.
