HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SET ONE: Jewell started the day strong, opening up 11-3 lead behind five kills from different players and taking advantage of five Sioux Falls errors. The Cougars came storming however, going on an 11-2 run to move from down five to up four on their way to the 25-20 win.
  • SET TWO: In the second set it was Sioux Falls jumping out to the early lead, taking a 21-7 advantage. The Cardinals battled, getting kills from Maddie Wingert and Tori Vogt to pull within 20-13 but could get no closer, falling 25-16.
  • SET THREE: Jewell again jumped out to the quick lead, holding a 13-6 advantage after three early kills from Grace Baucom. The Cougars responded by scoring 13 of the next 19 points to tie the set 19-19.
