The William Jewell women's soccer team got a goal in the 83rd minute of regulation to down Drury University, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri. With the win, the Cardinals move to 6-4-1 overall and 3-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 1:00 - Just 60 seconds into the game, sophomore Lexy Hawkins found the back of the net from 12 yards out. (1-0, Jewell)
- 19:40 - Allison Malott made it a two score game with a shot after rebounding the ball of the post. (2-0, Jewell)
- 56:45 - Drury got on the board with a goal by Brinn Cooper from nine yards out on the right. (2-1, Jewell)
- 58:37: Malott scored her second goal of the game just two minutes later on an open shot after the DU goalie left the box. (3-1, Jewell)
- 72:08 - The Panthers made things interesting down the stretch as Cooper found the back of the net again to pull Drury within one. (3-2, Jewell)
- 73:38 - Just over one minute later Chloe Cash tied the game with her first goal of the season. (3-3)
- 83:59 - An own goal in the 83rd minute put Jewell on top and eventually gave the Cardinals the win. (4-3, Jewell)
