The William Jewell women's soccer team gave No. 17 ranked McKendree a battle on Sunday afternoon in Greene Stadium but fell 1-0 to drop to 2-9-1 and 2-7 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

How it Happened

• The Cardinals got off six shots in the first 29 minutes but could find the net as Bearcat keeper Zoe Brochu had three saves. 
• Paula Melsheimer worked around a defender to put McKendree on top with a goal in the 43rd minute. 

For the Cardinals

• Jewell was led by Allison Malott's five shots with three on goal. Kayla Crowder added four shots. 
• For the second straight game keeper Kaylie Kappelmann posted 12 saves, tying her career high. 

For the Bearcats

• Sydnee Carroll finished with a match-high eight shots including six on goal. Alynnah O'Leary posted seven. 
• Zoe Brochu collected four saves.
