The William Jewell volleyball team gave the No. 12 ranked Rockhurst Hawks all they could handle on Tuesday night but ultimately fell 3-1. The Cardinals drop to 6-11 on the year and 2-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

How it Happened

• The Cardinals started strong, jumping out to a 6-3 lead behind three kills from Maddie Wingert. The Hawks rallied to tie the game at 12 but Jewell followed with a 7-2 run to push their lead to five. Tied again at 21 the Cardinals scored four straight points to seal the set. 
• Jewell fell into a 19-11 hole to start set two but mounted a furious rally to pull within 22-19, led by three kills by Tori Vogt but dropped the set 25-19.
• Set three was all Rockhurst as they ran away with a 25-16 win. 
• The Cardinals again fell into a deep hole in the final set but went on a 14-6 run to tie the set at 23 capped by a block from Elizabeth Quinn and Lily Johnson. Two errors ended the set at 25-23. 

For the Cardinals

• Quinn finished with a match-high 13 blocks which shatters the NCAA era record of nine, a mark she shared with Grace Miller '18 and Madeline Johnson '18. 
• Vogt led the Cardinals with 18 kills while adding 10 digs for a double-double. Paityn Hardison added 13 kills.
• Megan Rhule dished out 24 assists while chipping in 10 digs. 
• Kennedy Ruckh led Jewell with 17 digs. 

For the Hawks

• Karli Reichert finished with a match-high 20 kills. 
• Jadyn Makovick finished with 21 digs to lead all players
