The William Jewell men's basketball team survived a late game rally from Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon in Warrensburg, Mo. to win 71-63 and move to 2-1 on the season. 

How it Happened

• Jewell started strong outscoring UCO 18-11 over the first eight minutes of action. The Bronchos followed up with a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to take their first lead at 21-20. The Cardinals won the final eight minutes 12-9 to hold a two point advantage at the half. 
• After UCO opened the half by tying the game at 45, the Cardinals scored 12 of the next 18 points, capped by a steal from Nick Bradley and feed to Kobe McKinley for the lay in. Leading by six the Bronchos again rallied to pull within one with under five minutes to play. Jewell connected on all six free throw attempts over the final minute to seal the win. 

For the Cardinals

• Eysan Wiley finished with a game-high 18 points while Jackson Golightly posted a career-high 15 to go along with three assists. 
• Bradley chipped in nine points, three rebounds, three steals and four assists. 
• Robbie Hanson added 10 points. 

For the Bronchos

• Dashawn McDowell had a game-high 21 points with Justin Nimmer and Alex Ogunseye adding 10. 
• Central Oklahoma finished with 50 points in the paint compared to just 28 by the Cardinals.
