The William Jewell softball team earned two wins over Newman University by scores of 2-1 and 1-0 in a rare Monday non-conference doubleheader. With the sweep, the Cardinals improve to 16-12 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T4: Newman scored first in the opener as Bailey Bugner doubled to center scoring Paige Wallace. (1-0, NU)
- B4: Courtney Beatty immediately responded with a one out solo home run to left center tying the game at one. (1-1)
- B7: Tori Farr took advantage of her speed and a Newman miscue to swipe second base and come around the score the winning run without a RBI in the bottom of the seventh. (2-1, Jewell)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- B6: Lindsay Glynn led off the sixth frame with a single and advanced to third. Hoover sent a deep fly ball down the left field line in foul territory that allowed Glynn to cross the plate for the game's only run. (1-0, Jewell)
