The William Jewell softball team earned a sweep of Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Lewis University on Saturday on the road, winning game one 5-3 in nine innings before taking game two 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- T1: The Cardinals grabbed an early lead with two runs in the opening frame on four straight singles to lead off the game. (2-0, Jewell)
- B2: A solo home run by Lewis cut the Jewell lead in half. (2-1, Jewell)
- T3: Ashlyn Sutton singled to center in the third scoring Sarah Lewis to extend the lead back to two. (3-1, Jewell)
- B5: The Flyers got a sac fly from Cassie Shaw to score a run and cut the lead to one. (3-2, Jewell)
- B6: Lewis tied the game on a solo home run from Kristin Kavalauskas in the sixth (3-3)
- T9: Madelynne Greenstreet and Lindsay Glynn reached base to lead off the ninth inning before Emily Hoover drove in two with a double to left center. (5-3, Jewell)

- B5: Lewis tied the game in the fifth on a sac fly followed by a solo home run. (2-2)Â
- T6: The Cardinals responded immediately, scoring the winning run on an error. (3-2, Jewell)
