The Cardinals  open Great Lakes Valley Conference play this week as they travel to new league opponent Lindenwood.

YOU SHOULD NOTE
• The Cardinals are looking to rebound from a rough second half in week two. Jewell came out strong in the opening two quarters, leading 21-14 at the break but allowed 35 unanswered points in the final 30 minutes.
• Quarterback Will Schneider went 21-of-39 passing for 271 and a touchdown on Saturday against West Texas. The 21 completions are the most for a Cardinal QB since Brad Strauss' 22 at Texas A&M-Kingsville in November 2017.
• Schneider and company enter the week ranked fourth in the GLVC in pass offense. Ishmial Mitchell and Jalik Jaggwe have each posted a 100-plus yard receiving game and two touchdowns thus far while TJ Guillory added a career-best 99 yard performance last week. Both Jaggwe and Mitchell are ranked in the top-10 in the conference in receiving yards per game at 84.5 and 66 respectively.
• Kicker Dalton Dye has the Cardinals tied for first in the league alongside Indianapolis and Truman after hitting all five point after attempts.
• Jewell has found a way to get the first down when they need to as they currently rank second in the conference with a 48.5 third down conversion percentage and tied for second at 66.7 percent on fourth downs.
• The defense has been led by a strong linebacker core, including redshirt senior Brock Geisz who leads the GLVC with 13.5 tackles per game, including 14 total solos.

THE SERIES
This will be the first meeting between William Jewell and Lindenwood since the Cardinals final season in the NAIA in 2010. Prior to both programs making the jump to NCAA-II the series was highly contested with Lindenwood leading 8-7. Jewell won the first four games of the series from 1996-1999 but the Lions have taken the previous four from 2007-2010.
