The William Jewell women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Quincy University on Friday evening in Greene Stadium. The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. 

How it Happened

• Quincy used a first half foul in the box to jump on top as Lauren Crane converted the penalty kick in the 38th minute. A goal off a rebound from Maddie Bauer pushed the Hawk lead to two early in the second half. 
• Kayla Crowder put Jewell on the board and cut the Quincy lead in half in the 76th minute on a shot from 30 yards for her second score of the year. 

For the Cardinals

• Crowder and Gracie Schweinfurth led the Cardinals with four shots each, including two and three on goal respectively. 
• Olivia Chalabi picked up her first career assist. 
• Kaylie Kappelmann recorded eight saves. 

For the Hawks

• Quincy outshot the Cardinals 28-13 but just 10-8 in shots on goal. 
• Riley Hayes posted a game-high seven shots with three on goal to lead the Hawks. 
• Keeper Emilee Autry finished with seven saves.
