The William Jewell women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw to open the 2019 season on the road at Upper Iowa. 

How it Happened

• Katie Pohl scored the first goal of the season for Jewell with a shot in the 19th minute. 
• With under eight minutes to play Upper Iowa tied the game on a goal from Aimee Kemper. 
• The two teams combined for nine shots over the two overtime periods but neither could score. 

For the Cardinals

• Jewell outshot the Peacocks 23-19 with 11 on goal. 
• Allison Malott led the offense with five shots with Pohl adding four. 
• Sophomore Kaylie Kappelmann recorded six saves in her first game back. 

For the Peacocks

• Jessica Kron led Upper Iowa with four shots including three on goal. 
• Goalie Natalie Rudrud posted nine saves.
