LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team put up their best three-point percentage of the season on Sunday, holding on to down Missouri S&T 73-62 in the 2020 finale. The win moves the Cardinals back to .500 on the season at 3-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With Missouri S&T leading 9-5, the Cardinals went on a tear, outscoring the Miners 24-5 over the final 7:39 of the first quarter to take a 29-14 lead after one period.
- The offense struggled in the second quarter, shooting just 15% from the field during which time Missouri S&T went on a 19-7 to pull within three at the half.
- The Miners scored the first two points of the second half to pull within one before Jewell went on a 14-5 run to expand their lead back to 10.
- In the fourth quarter, the Miners were able to four with just over six minutes to play before back-to-back threes from Kaitlyn Baird and Lea Finn sparked a 14-7 run to finish the game and earn the victory.
FOR THE CARDINALS
- Kiara Bradley posted a season-high 30 points in the win, including 15 in the opening quarter. The senior added her fourth double-double with 12 rebounds to go along with four assists and four steals.
- Finn added 12 points and seven boards while Tolson chipped in 10 points.
- Sydney Offield, despite only having four points, flirted with a triple double, finishing with nine rebounds, six steals and a career-high nine assists.
FOR THE MINERS
- Laura Rodriguez led the Miners with 20 points while Alex Kerr added 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

The Cardinals are off for the winter break and are scheduled to host Missouri-St. Louis on January 3 at 1 p.m.
