SEWARD, Nebraska - The William Jewell women's tennis team opened the 2020-2021 athletic year on Saturday as they took on Concordia University of Nebraska, falling 5-2. This was the first official competition for Jewell in any sport since March 10.
Sophomore
Kelly Parrish led the day, winning at No. 1 singles and doubles, partnering with
Julia Yamate. Additionally, Jewell got a win at No. 5 singles by
Gillian Evans in her first match since returning from injury in the spring. Two players,
Michaela Esau and
Taytum Carson, saw their first collegiate action on the court.
