LEBANON, Ill. - The William Jewell football team dropped their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener, 52-10, at McKendree on Saturday afternoon to fall to 0-5 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• McKendree wasted no time grabbing the lead with an interception on the first play on their way to 17 first quarter points. The Bearcats extended their lead to 31 in the second quarter. 
• With under four minutes remaining in the half, the Cardinals got on the board on a 45-yard field goal by Josh Click. The kick is tied for eighth longest by a Cardinal in the NCAA era and is already the second time the freshman has put his name on that list. 
• McKendree added 21 more in the second half before the Cardinals found the end zone as Anthony Pritzel connected with Jalik Jaggwe for a 16 yard score. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jaggwe led the Cardinals with 83 yards receiving while Tabren Yates had 25 on the ground. Pritzel was 17-of-37 for 201 yards. 
• Defensively, Jake Hedrick totaled eight tackles while three players had one breakup. 
• The offense was held to 272 yards compared to McKendree's 551.
