QUINCY, Ill. - The William Jewell women's soccer team scored twice on Sunday but fell 5-2 to Quincy University. The Cardinals are now 0-14-2 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Hawks drew first blood in the eighth minute as Aliyah Rottger was the beneficiary of a pass from Lauren Crane to put Quincy on top 1-0. 
• Alex Johnson tied the match just over nine minutes later, curving a free kick from just outside the box past the outstretched arms of the keeper.
• The Hawks went into the break with a lead, as Lexi Porchia scored with just three seconds remaining on the clock. Quincy then went on a scoring spree in the second half, with three goals in a span of less than 10 minutes to take a commanding lead. 
• Kate Lawrence was able to cut into that deficit with a free kick goal of her own in the 87th minute but it was not enough for the Cardinals. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Johnson scored her fifth goal of the season 
• Jewell managed 12 shots on the day, with five on goal, led by three a piece from Johnson, Corrine Hughes and Clara Fronabarger. 
• Katie Wagenheim finished with seven saves.

Jewell will conclude the 2021 season on Friday as they travel across town to Rockhurst University.
