LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell football team completed the 2021 season on Saturday at Greene Stadium. The Cardinals fell to Quincy University by a final of 51-17. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals got off to a strong start with a three-and-out followed by scoring on their first drive. Jewell drove 81 yards with 16 plays, eating up more than seven minutes of the first quarter, ending with a 21 yard field goal by Josh Click. 
• Quincy got on the board at the end of the opening period on a 48-yard pass to Alex Hardin to take a 7-3 lead. The Hawks expanded their lead to 21-3 midway through the second quarter. 
• Jewell found the end zone for the first time as Bart Harris found Jesse Thomas for 41 yards. The Cardinals scored again to close the half as Jordan Clay rushed four yards to close the gap to 31-17 at the break. 
• Quincy scored 20 unanswered in the second half to bring the score to the final. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• In his final game as a Cardinal, Jalik Jaggwe put together perhaps the best performance of his career with 169 receiving yards, the most yards for a Cardinal since 2015, on 13 catches.
• Jesse Thomas also posted 110 yards receiving with one touchdown. 
• Clay finished with 50 yards on the ground on 15 carries. 
• Harris posted a career-best 333 passing yards.
