ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The William Jewell men's basketball team rallied from down as many as 17 in the second half to pull within five with under a minute to play but fell just short, 74-66. The loss drops the Cardinals to 3-14 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first half went back-and-forth with eight lead changes and four ties through the first 12 minutes. Tied at 26, Lewis finished the half on a 10-2 run to hold an eight point lead at the break. 
• The Flyers outscored Jewel 26-17 over the first nine minutes of the second half to break out to a 17-point advantage. The Cardinals finished on a 10-3 run to get as close as five, after three pointers from Mason Alexander and Jordan Jermain, but could get no closer. 

FOR THE CARDINALS

• Eysan Wiley led the Cardinals with 23 points, on 10-of-21 from the floor, to go with three steals while pulling down six rebounds. 
• Jermain finished with 18, including 11 in the second half, while Alexander chipped in 11. 
• The Cardinals shot 49% from the field but were out-rebounded 37-26. 

FOR THE FLYERS

• Lewis was led by Beau Frericks' 19 points, on 7-of-11 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from three. 
• The Flyers shot 47% from the floor and the bench outscored their counterpart 33-2.
