ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell women's soccer team continued their season opening road trip on Sunday afternoon at Missouri S&T where they used a late second half goal to tie the game and earn a 1-1 draw.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team could muster much offense early, combining for just two shots on goal through the first 40 minutes.
- Missouri S&T got on the board first in the 43rd minute at Beth Roberts scored.
- Jewell managed just one shot in the second half before Kayla Crowder moved around a defender to score the equalizer from 30 yards out on the left side in 83rd minute.
- The Cardinals got off four shots in the overtime periods, compared to two by the Miners but none could score.
FOR THE CARDINALS
- Crowder finished with a team-high three shots, including her first goal of the year on a feed from Jasmine Collier.
- Carolyn Schneck added two shots, with one on goal, for Jewell who had eight attempts total.
- Katie Wagenheim posted a career-high eight saves in her first start of the season.
FOR THE MINERS
- Missouri S&T finished with 17 shots, led by eight from Ally Hasken.
- Miner keeper Viktoria Johnson had three saves.

Jewell returns to Green Stadium on Friday night, for the first time since October 27, 2019. The Cardinals will host Maryville at 5 p.m. Spectators will be permitted at this time and will be required to follow all campus and county guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
