SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team saw their season come to an end on Saturday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals, falling to Truman 68-52. After starting the year 3-7, the Cardinals rallied in the second half of the season to finish 12-11 and sixth in the GLVC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell got off to a good start, playing even with the Bulldogs most of the first quarter. Bailey Russell layup just before the buzzer gave the Cardinals a 14-13 lead after 10 minutes. 
• With Jewell leading 16-15, Truman went on a 12-2 run to open up their largest lead of the day at nine. Rachel Schon pulled the Cardinals within eight at the break after two free throws. 
• Buckets by Ainsley Tolson and Claire Burch to start the second half pulled the Cardinals back within four but from there Truman went on a 22-6 run to open up a 20-point advantage. 
• Jewell cut the deficit to 10 midway through the fourth quarter after a three by Russell but the Bulldogs finished on a 10-4 run to secure the win. 

FOR THE CARDINALS

• Kiara Bradley led Jewell with a double double, her 13th of the season, with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
• Tolson, Burch and Russell all added 10 points each.
• Sydney Offield posted seven rebounds and a team-high six assists.  

FOR THE BULLDOGS

•   Hannah Belanger finished with a game-high 21 points for Truman who also got double doubles from Katie Jaseckas and Ellie Weltha.
