Late Goal Lifts Rockhurst Over Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team tied the game in the second half but a late score by Rockhurst dropped the Cardinals by a final of 2-1. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rockhurst got on the board early with a goal by Jacob Weaver in the third minute. 
  • The Cardinals tied the game in the 61st minute as Carson Lee broke past the Hawk keeper to score on an empty goal. 
  • The Hawks got the game winner in the 73rd minute on a goal following a corner kick. 

FOR THE CARDINALS
  • Jewell finished with seven shots, three on target, all by different players. 
  • Eli Gratz had five saves. 

UP NEXT
Jewell will wrap up the 2021 spring season on Friday night as they travel to Southwest Baptist for a 7:30 p.m. kick.
