INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that 3,918 student-athletes have garnered Academic All-GLVC distinction for the 2020-21 season. William Jewell totaled 182 honorees across 18 GLVC sports.
The Academic All-GLVC honor is presented student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 during the academic year, including those who receive a redshirt year.
The list of honorees across the league features students from the following sports: baseball (412), men's basketball (98), women's basketball (153), women's bowling (44), men's cross country (144), women's cross country (147), football (274), men's golf (116), women's golf (110), men's lacrosse (129), women's lacrosse (131), men's soccer (300), women's soccer (328), softball (254), men's swimming and diving (157), women's swimming and diving (140), men's tennis (90), women's tennis (89), men's track and field (228), women's track and field (263), volleyball (206), and wrestling (105).
Highlighting Jewell's accomplishments is women's basketball who boasts 100% of the 2020-2021 roster on the Academic All-GLVC list as all 16 players completed the academic year above the 3.30 threshold to lead all teams in the conference. Four programs set new team-bests including men's basketball (8) and men's soccer (17), while softball (13) and women's soccer (21) had their highest total ever for the second consecutive year. Additionally, men's track & field tied their program-best with nine selections.
Jewell saw 83 student-athletes earn first time honors, including 53 true freshmen, while 100 are repeat receipients. Additionally, 16 seniors received their fourth honor while two others,
Rhyann Fisher and
Annemarie Boeh of women's basketball, earned their fifth.
