ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team dropped a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest, 73-42, to Missouri S&T on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 1-12 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jewell scored five of the first seven points after a three from Katie Knock but the Miners finished the opening quarter on a 17-4 run to take a 10-point lead.
- The Cardinals struggled offensively in the second and third periods, shooting just 20% from the floor as Missouri S&T expanded their lead to 51-21.
- Jewell found their offense in the final 10 minutes, scoring 21 point with six different players scoring in the quarter.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Knock led the Cardinals with 13 points and narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds while also blocking two shots.
- Skyler Boylan added eight points and three boards.
