LIBERTY, Mo. - Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 and 2023 William Jewell College Athletics Hall of Fame induction classes. The nomination deadline is February 18, 2022 and can be submitted at jewellcardinals.com/HOFnomination.

The William Jewell Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1994 to recognize outstanding achievement by William Jewell alumni, faculty or staff in the areas of athletic achievement, coaching or other noteworthy accomplishments as a member of the athletic department. The selection is based solely on what the individual accomplished while associated with William Jewell College.

Nominations may be submitted by all William Jewell constituents with final selections made by a two-thirds vote of the Hall of Fame Committee which is constructed of alumni, current and former coaches and athletic administration.

A ten-year waiting period is required for student-athlete selection and while graduation is not a requirement for the Hall of Fame, it is preferred. The award may be presented posthumously to alumni, faculty or staff. The selection should be made on the overall career of any individual, however, it may, on occasion, be based on a single accomplishment. 

Nominations will require basic information on the athletic achievements of the nominees as well two references to verify and provide additional information. Self-nominations are accepted. 

Previously, honorees were selected in the same calendar year as their inductions, however, moving forward, in an effort to provide ample time for any necessary travel and planning for persons selected, the Hall of Fame Committee has elected to begin work on induction classes at least one year in advance, beginning with the 2023 class.

The Hall of Fame was established in 1994 and has inducted 27 classes, consisting of nearly 150 individuals and more than 25 teams. No induction occurred in 2020 due to the pandemic.
