INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - William Jewell middle blocker
Alex Dvorak has been selected the Defensive Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Valley Conference, as announced by the league on Monday.
The freshman posted 15 blocks, an average of 1.5 per set, and 11 digs as the Cardinals went 3-0 at the Midwest Region Crossover, on her way to All-Tournament Team honors. Additionally, she totaled 21 kills (2.1/set) and three aces while hitting nearly .300 on the weekend. She has upped her season total to 95 blocks, the most by a freshman in the NCAA era and passing Christina Pratt (2012) for fifth in a single season.
Dvorak becomes the first Cardinal to earn a weekly honor since Jewell joined the GLVC and the first freshman chosen since 2019.
