LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell football team fell to Truman State by a final of 42-7 on Saturday afternoon to drop to 1-7 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Truman scored on their first four possessions to open up a 28-0 lead before Terik Hickmon grabbed his first career interception in the second quarter. 
• The Cardinals got on the board in the third period as Taylor Eggers ran the ball in one yard after a nine-play drive. 
• The Bulldogs added an additional score in the fourth quarter to bring the score to the final. 

KEY STATS

• Deldrionn Amos finished with 50 yards on six catches while Caleb Forrest added 47 on five receptions. 
• CJ Ward collected 137 yards on 16-of-28 passes.
• Adam Callahan had a team high 12 tackles, with four for loss, while Sean Mitchell added 11 stops.
