LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Lewis University on Friday night at Greene Stadium. The Cardinals drop to 2-3-3 on the season with the loss. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell grabbed the early lead as Cole Bulgren converted a penalty kick in the 20th minute after a handball in the box. 
• The Flyers tied things up just over two minutes later as Arturs Gorodnickis knocked in a header off a corner kick. 
• After more than 40 minutes of even play, Lewis scored in the 64th minute as Gorodnickis put a cross into the box to Zahkar Schkidchenko. 
• Jewell nearly tied the game in the 79th minute on a header by Alex Tomasella but the shot veered just inches wide left. 

KEY STATS

• Bulgren led the Cardinals with three shots while Alexis Ibarra had two. 
• Jose Arellano posted seven saves.
