KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team got within one possession midway through the second half at Truman State but fell 82-62 on Thursday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell took an early 5-0 lead to open the game but the Bulldogs followed with a 15-2 run and open up an eight point advantage. The Cardinals got back within two, just over five minutes later, after a dunk from Kobe McKinley but Truman closed the half outscoring the Cards 16-9 to hold a 39-30 lead at the intermission. 
• Truman expanded their lead to double-digits with 15:05 to play but Jewell quickly rallied with back-to-back threes from Mason Alexander and Jordan Jermain and a bucket from John Zimmerman to get within one possession, 50-48. The Bulldogs finished by outscoring Jewell 32-14 to run away with the win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Grant Stubbs came off the bench to score a season high 16 points while Jermain added 11. 
• McKinley pulled down eight rebounds. 
• The Jewell bench outscored their counterpart 26-6.

Jewell will travel to Quincy University on Saturday for a 3 p.m. rematch with the Hawks.
