Box Score QUINCY, Ill. - The William Jewell women's basketball team started strong on Saturday but a big third quarter by Quincy University pushed the Hawks past Jewell 72-54. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trailing by one midway through the opening quarter the Cardinals went on a 10-2 run, capped by three pointers from Katie Knock and Lea Finn to go on top 17-10. 
• The Hawks doubled up Jewell in the second quarter, outscoring the Cards 16-8 to go back in front by two, 29-27 at the half. 
• Jewell came out of the break and immediately went back on top by five after a traditional three-point play by Skyler Boylan. A three from Libby Arnold with 5:39 to go in the third gave Jewell a six point advantage but Quincy followed with a 21-0 run to close the period and lead 52-37. 
• Jewell scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, being outscored by just three but could not cut into the deficit, falling 72-54. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Boylan poured in a career high 17 points on 7-of-9 from the floor while Arnold added 15 and Knock 14.
• Arnold and Boylan grabbed a team high seven rebounds apiece while the former also had two assists and two steals.
