CLAREMORE, Okla. - The William Jewell women's soccer team opened the 2022 season on the road on Thursday night at Rogers State University. The Cardinals fell 4-0 to drop to 0-1 on the season. 

GOALS

• Rogers State struck first in the 16th minute with a goal by Maggie Brown. 
• The Hillcats got three shots off in a span of 40 seconds and connected on the third attempt as Hannah Schulze scored on a assist from Libby Doyle. They added a third tally in the 33rd minute to lead by three at the intermission. 
• RSU added a final score in the 69th minute to bring the score to the final. 

KEY STATS

• The Cardinals were out-shot 18-3 on the night, with Kate Lawrence, Clara Fronabarger and Jayme Coon each recording one shot on goal. 
• Taylor Thompson played the second half in goal for Jewell and recorded four saves in her collegiate debut. 
• Along with Thompson, Lux Sands, Riley Richardson, Riley Frasure-Smith, Jules Bise, Abby Light, Cirila Pettit, and Megan Giffin saw the first action of their careers.
