LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team earned their first point of the season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings with a 1-1 draw with Drury University on Friday evening. The Cardinals move to 0-1-1 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell came out of the gates with a fury, recorded three shots in the first 22 minutes. In the 24th, Walker Bond send a cross into the middle of the box where Carson Lee sent a sliding shot into the back of the net to put the Cardinals on top. 
• The Panthers were held scoreless until the 58th minute when a foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick which Jacob Schmidt converted to tie things up. 
• Each team had three shots on goal in the final minutes but could not score.  

KEY STATS

• The Cardinals put up 13 shots with eight on goal, led by three shots a piece from Lee and Alexis Ibarra. Sam Wambold added two shots on goal. 
• Jose Arellano finished with five saves, playing all 90 minutes.
