LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's soccer team went up against defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Drury on Friday evening, falling 3-0. The Cardinals drop to 1-5 on the season, 0-2 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Drury got on the board in the 27th minute as Elsa Gonzalez broke away on the far left to score for the Panthers. 
• The Cardinals best opportunity came midway through the second half when they recorded five straight corner kicks, resulting in three shots on goal, but the DU keeper kept the sheet clean. 
• Jewell held strong for the 57 minutes before a penalty kick added another score in favor of Drury. The Panhters chipped one in by Tara Simon with under a minute to play to bring the score to the final. 

KEY STATS

• Jewell finished with six shots, but five on goal, led by Riley Frasure-Smith's three. 
• Katie Wagenheim posted seven saves.
